Connect Home Program
ConnectHome at AMHA
Bridging the Digital Divide. Building Self-Sufficiency.
At the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority (AMHA), we believe access to technology is no longer a luxury-it is a necessity. From applying for jobs and completing homework to attending telehealth appointments and paying bills online, reliable internet access and digital skills are essential to thriving in today’s world.
ConnectHome is AMHA’s commitment to ensuring our residents have the connectivity, devices, and training they need to succeed.
What is ConnectHome?
ConnectHome is a national initiative launched by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to close the digital divide for families living in public housing. AMHA proudly participates in this initiative by connecting residents to:
- Affordable or No-Cost Internet Access
- Low-Cost Devices (laptops, tablets, and computers)
- Digital Literacy Training and Support
- Community Partnerships that Expand Opportunity
Our goal is simple: empower residents with the tools and knowledge needed to achieve economic mobility and long-term self-sufficiency.
Why ConnectHome Matters
- Digital access impacts nearly every part of daily life. Through ConnectHome, AMHA residents can:
- Search and apply for employment opportunities
- Create resumes and build professional skills
- Complete online education and certification programs
- Help children succeed with homework and virtual learning
- Attend telehealth appointments and manage healthcare
- Access financial tools, banking services, and budgeting resources
- Stay connected with family, community, and essential services
Without reliable internet and digital skills, families face barriers that limit opportunity. ConnectHome removes those barriers.
