Community Partnerships

Why Partnerships Matter

Affordable housing is a critical foundation, but residents often face additional barriers related to employment, health care access, transportation, digital access, and education. Community partnerships allow AMHA to connect residents with services that address these challenges holistically.

Through collaborative relationships, we are able to expand access to supportive services while also strengthening the housing ecosystem that supports our communities.

These partnerships help us:

  • Improve access to services and opportunities for residents
  • Support economic mobility and workforce development
  • Promote health, wellness, and stability
  • Expand digital access and technology training
  • Strengthen neighborhood engagement and community connections
  • Increase the availability of safe and quality housing

Together, these partnerships help residents build the tools, resources, and confidence needed to achieve long-term independence.

Housing Partnerships

Partnerships are also critical to AMHA’s core housing mission. We work closely with landlords, developers, contractors, and community organizations to ensure that affordable housing remains accessible, well maintained, and responsive to community needs.

Through the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP), AMHA partners with private property owners across Summit County to provide housing options for families seeking safe and affordable rental housing. Landlords play a vital role in expanding housing choice and helping families find homes in communities throughout the region.

AMHA also collaborates with developers, construction professionals, and housing partners to preserve and modernize existing housing while supporting the development of new affordable housing opportunities. These partnerships help maintain high housing standards and ensure that our communities remain safe, stable, and sustainable.

In addition, partnerships with local government agencies, code enforcement officials, and housing advocates help ensure compliance with housing standards, strengthen neighborhood conditions, and support long-term housing quality.

Early learning is essential to long-term success. Through collaborative programming and community partnerships, AMHA supports initiatives that help children develop strong foundations before entering kindergarten. Programs such as Parents as Teachers (PAT) and SPARK connect families with home visiting support, developmental screenings, and school readiness resources.

Partnerships with local school districts, early childhood providers, and community organizations help ensure that children living in AMHA communities have the support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Access to stable employment is one of the most important pathways toward self-sufficiency. AMHA partners with workforce development organizations, training providers, and employers to help residents build skills and access career opportunities.

These partnerships support job readiness training, resume development, credentialing programs, and connections to employment opportunities throughout the region.

In addition, programs such as the Family Self-Sufficiency Program help residents set long-term goals related to employment, education, and financial independence.

Healthy communities begin with healthy residents. AMHA works with healthcare providers, nonprofit organizations, and public health partners to bring health services and education closer to the communities we serve.

Partnerships support preventative care, wellness education, health screenings, and resources that help residents manage their physical and mental health. These collaborations ensure that residents have access to essential services that contribute to long-term stability and well-being.

Technology access is essential for modern life. Through initiatives like ConnectHome, AMHA partners with local organizations, internet providers, and technology partners to help residents access affordable connectivity, devices, and digital literacy training.

These programs allow residents to search for employment, participate in online education, attend telehealth appointments, and stay connected with community resources.

Community partnerships also strengthen the social fabric of AMHA neighborhoods. By working with nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and community groups, we help create opportunities for residents to connect, engage, and participate in community life.

Partners support youth programming, mentoring initiatives, family engagement activities, and community events that bring residents together and foster stronger neighborhoods.

These efforts help create environments where residents feel supported, connected, and empowered.

AMHA welcomes partnerships with organizations that share our commitment to improving housing stability and expanding opportunities for families.
